Please complete the following steps in order to get started with us:

1. Contact your child’s pediatrician to request a referral for speech/language evaluation/consult. Your pediatrician’s office can fax the referral to Speak Volumes Therapy at 757-734-8436. If you already have a physical referral, please take a picture and email it to admin@speakvolumesllc.com. We require all patients to have a referral on file.

2. Once received, our team will reach out to you within a few days to create your child’s patient profile and send our intake paperwork via our secure portal. Please provide us with as much information as possible on the pediatric intake form. This gives our therapists a “snapshot” of your child before even meeting them, which allows us to spend more time with your child during assessment, rather than collecting case history.

3. Once intake forms are submitted in full, our team will complete the necessary benefit checks with your insurance and reach out to schedule an evaluation.

If you are unsure if your child is in need of speech therapy, we offer free 15 minute consults, or you can discuss it with your child’s pediatrician. We are more than happy to answer any questions you may have. It is important to note, consultations are not required to become a new patient, but offered as a courtesy for inquiring patients.
